Improvement of Tai Tau Leng Roundabout and Fanling Highway (Kwu Tung Section) – Design and Construction (CE 20/2019 (HY))

Project Scope

  • Widening of about 4 kilometres Fanling Highways (Kwu Tung Section) between Chau Tau and Tai Tau Leng Roundabout from dual-three lane to dual-four lane;
  • Provision of Po Shek Wu Road Flyover linking Po Shek Wu Road and Fanling Highway (Kwu Tung Section) west bound;
  • Review and modification of exiting footbridges / subways across Fanling Highway (Kwu Tung Section) and other related facilities;
  • Noise mitigation works of Fanling Highway (Kwu Tung Section) widening works, Castle Peak Road (Chau Tau and Kwu Tung Section), Po Shek Wu Road and Po Shek Wu Road Flyover; and
  • Site formation of about 2.3 and 3.5 hectares of land at Planning Area No. 27 and No. 33 in Outline Zoning Plan S/KTN/2 for District Cooling System and Business and Technology Park respectively.

Current Progress

The consultancy agreement was awarded to AECOM Asia Company Limited in February 2020. Design of site formation and infrastructure works are being carried out and the construction works are scheduled to commence in 2024 for target completion by 2031.
